The Overlord serves as one of the two unseen overarching antagonists of both the Pilot Episodes (alongside the Great Devourer) and Season 1: Rise of the Snakes (alongside Master Chen), one of the two main antagonists (alongside Lord Garmadon) of Season 2: Legacy of the Green Ninja (specifically as the main antagonist of the second half), the main antagonist of both Season 3: Rebooted and Season 15: Crystalized, and the sole antagonist of the "could-be-canon" short minifilm series Decoded. He was voiced by Scott McNeil, who also voiced Clouse and Nadakhan in the same series, Twin Masters in Hero: 108, Tall Boy in Riverdale, Taigokumaru and Panther Demon leader in InuYasha, Voltar in League of Super Evil and Blokk in Shadow Raiders. He is also the corruptor of the Great Devourer, making himself responsible for Lord Garmadon's fall to evil, and the archenemy of both the First Spinjitzu Master and Lloyd Garmadon, as well as one of the Ninja's most powerful and dangerous enemies. He is a dark spirit and one of the earliest evils in Ninjago who planned on conquering and rebuilding it into a realm of darkness and destroying the Balance.
